Elevator pitch: Garden Fresh Farms has designed and manufactures modular commercial indoor agriculture systems that can be configured for the size of the warehouse, consumer market size, variety of crops to be sold and the investors budget.
How we make a difference: Our environmentally holistic business model solves several agricultural environmental issues, creates jobs and revitalizes neighborhoods, re-tasks obsolete buildings, brings a steady profit for investors and increases the access to naturally grown, fresh-tasting produce grown without pesticides. Something for everyone to love!
If we win? Winning the Cleantech Open will help us to fulfill our vision of 10 major cities in 18 months and develop relations with partners for expansion internationally.
Cleantech Open anecdote: We grow “legal herbs,” but sometimes people ask about the other variety. A professional colleague of mine in Colorado hypothesized that our systems might just be more profitable than growing pot. So we ran the math, and yes, growing basil in our equipment and methods is more profitable than growing wholesale pot. This demonstrates that by solving the density, energy & water use with our indoor agriculture systems we are highly profitable.
